Hold up. They giving out awards to Jaguar Wright? Huh? The outspoken singer known for her bold and controversial statements, was honored on Tuesday (Feb. 18) with the prestigious Defender of Freedom award at a ceremony hosted by America’s Future, Inc. The event took place at President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, and was presented by General Michael Flynn.
We have crossed into a new alternate reality, ya’ll.
Get this, America’s Future, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving American values, praised Wright for her “fearless dedication to truth and justice” and her unrelenting pursuit of transparency and accountability. The group shared the news on their social media platforms, stating: “Jaguar Wright: A Voice of Truth and Courage.”
“Tonight, Jaguar Wright was honored with the Defender of Freedom award, presented by General Michael Flynn, in recognition of her fearless dedication to truth and justice. As a bold and unapologetic voice in the fight for transparency and accountability, Jaguar continues to shine a light where others fear to tread,” the post read.
Moreover, while the honor recognizes her commitment to these principles, Wright has also garnered attention for making highly controversial and unverified allegations about several high-profile celebrities. She has made incendiary remarks about figures like Beyoncé, Meek Mill, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Mary J. Blige, and others, which have sparked public backlash.
ICYMI, in a wild interview with Piers Morgan last year, Wright claimed that music moguls Diddy and JAY-Z were “monsters,” a comment that led to a legal request from both JAY-Z and Beyoncé. Morgan later apologized for airing the interview, stating, “Jaguar, unexpectedly, made several serious allegations about JAY-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were ‘totally false’ and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview.”
Oh, but wait. In addition to Wright, several other individuals were honored at the ceremony, including Ted Nugent, Lt. Col Carolyn Rocco, Lt. Col Theresa M. Long, Lt. Col Stuart Scheller, CDR Robert A. Green Jr., and Former Lt. Col Matthew Lohmeie. Boxing legend Mike Tyson was also present at the reception.
Armed forces, Mike Tyson and Jaguar Wright. Makes perfect sense.
Despite the mixed reactions to her past remarks, Wright’s recognition at this event underscores her so-called influence and stance on the issues she believes in.
Wild times.
