An update in the Marcus Jordan DUI case reveals the song of NBA legend Michael Jordan had ketamine on his person, not cocaine.
According to TMZ Sports, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement further tested the substance, revealing it to be ketamine. Ketamine reportedly can yield a positive cocaine reading when tested.
Jordan will now face charges of possession of ketamine, DUI with property damage, and resisting arrest. Ketamine is considered a schedule III drug in Florida, whereas cocaine is schedule II.
Marcus Jordan spoke out after his arrest. Hitting X, Jordan thanked everyone who checked in on him.
“I appreciate everyone reaching out,” he wrote. “I’m focusing on @TrophyRoomStore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life. I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”
Dashcam footage captures the police pursuit leading up to Marcus Jordan’s DUI arrest by the Maitland Police Department early Tuesday morning.
Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, allegedly sped away from an attempted traffic stop initiated by a Seminole County Sheriff’s officer around 1:03 a.m. The footage shows an officer approaching Jordan’s Lamborghini SUV before he accelerates, evading police. The officer later disengages and radios in Jordan’s last known location.
About 10 minutes later, officers found Jordan’s vehicle stuck on railroad tracks. The police report noted visible bumper damage and kicked-up rocks, suggesting he had been trying to flee but got stuck. Jordan, appearing disoriented with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, told officers, “Bro, I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I just made a wrong turn.”
