WWE and Sexyy Red? Oh, we go together. Ha. Sexyy Red came close to stepping into the world of professional wrestling. In a recent interview with Dazed, the rapper revealed that the WWE offered her a full-time contract.
Check this: Despite not being in wrestling shape at the time, Red had a memorable moment in the WWE spotlight. She appeared alongside legendary wrestler Shawn Michaels. The two teamed up to perform the iconic “Sexy Boy” entrance song, showing off her playful side.
Reflecting on the similarities between her two passions, Red compared rapping and wrestling. “Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same,” she said. “It’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right? Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”
What’s more, back in May, Sexyy Red made her debut at WWE’s NXT event, quickly making an impact. She revealed the newly designed NXT North American Women’s Championship belt and accompanied champions Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans to the ring. Her entrance, complete with twerking, set the crowd on fire and added to the excitement.
Though her wrestling journey didn’t fully materialize, Sexyy Red has clearly proven she can thrive in multiple arenas—whether it’s dominating the stage with her music or making her mark in the world of professional wrestling.
