When it rains, it pours. Lil Durk, who is embroiled in a fresh legal battle as a wrongful death lawsuit accuses him of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot that allegedly led to the fatal shooting of Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab.
Get this: the lawsuit, filed on behalf of Robinson’s family, mirrors federal criminal charges Durk is already facing in connection with the August 2022 killing. Prosecutors allege the rapper ordered the hit as retaliation for the 2020 murder of King Von, a close associate of his Only The Family (OTF) collective.
According to the lawsuit, Robinson was driving with rapper Quando Rondo near West Hollywood on August 19, 2022, when their vehicle was ambushed near the Beverly Center. Gunmen allegedly fired multiple rounds into the passenger side, critically injuring Robinson, who later died at a nearby hospital. The complaint claims the shooting was part of a broader pattern of illegal activities, including murder-for-hire, and seeks damages for the family’s loss.
“The premature loss of Mr. Robinson has devastated his family and community,” said Warren Postman, the family’s attorney. “We filed this lawsuit to hold those responsible accountable and ensure his loved ones receive the support they need.”
The lawsuit adds to Durk’s mounting legal woes. In December, a judge denied his request for bond, deeming him a flight risk and a danger to the public. His legal team had proposed a $2.3 million property bond, $1 million in cash from Sony Music, and strict monitoring conditions, but the court rejected the offer.
Prosecutors have tied Durk to multiple murders, including allegations that he financed a murder-for-hire scheme following his brother’s 2021 killing. A recently unsealed indictment also claims he arranged the 2022 killing of Stephon Mack, an alleged leader of the Gangster Disciples, and continued to offer money for hits on rival gang members.
Sheesh.
ICYMI, Durk’s legal troubles stem from a broader federal investigation into his alleged involvement in violent crimes. The sprawling indictment paints a picture of a rapper deeply entangled in gang-related violence, with prosecutors accusing him of using his wealth and influence to carry out retaliatory attacks. As the wrongful death lawsuit moves forward, Durk’s criminal case continues to unfold, casting a shadow over his career and raising questions about his future.
