Suge Knight has told plenty of wild stories from behind bars, and his latest might be one of the most unexpected yet—this time, involving Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow.
During a recent interview with Art of Dialogue, the former Death Row Records boss claimed he slapped Dupri over unpaid money owed to Bow Wow. While Dupri and Suge Knight don’t exactly seem like two names that belong in the same sentence, Knight insists he had to step in when Dupri allegedly failed to pay up after Bow Wow left So So Def and signed with Death Row.
According to Suge, the two happened to cross paths at a Fatburger, and that’s when things got heated. He recalled approaching Dupri and demanding he settle the debt, allegedly telling him:
“I’ma tell you one more time, what’s brackin’.”
Then, according to Knight, he smacked Dupri in the side of the head—but insists it wasn’t that serious.
“It wasn’t one of those… somebody get slapped so hard they slide down the street,” he clarified. “But it was something that made you get your attention.”
Dupri, allegedly panicked, called none other than Joe Jackson for backup. Knight claims Jackson was a close friend of his and pleaded with him to leave Dupri alone. Knight agreed… sort of. Instead of another slap, he says he opted to dump a cup of coffee over Dupri’s head instead.
Despite all this, Suge actually issued an apology to the producer, admitting he may have taken things too far.
“I shouldn’t have did that to Jermaine Dupri,” he admitted. “That ain’t right.”
Of course, he couldn’t resist one last jab, cracking a joke about Dupri’s height: “Leave the little people alone.”
With Suge behind bars until 2032, nobody—regardless of height—has to worry about running into him at Fatburger anytime soon.
