SOURCE SPORTS: Steph Curry’s 56-Point Explosion Lifts Warriors Past Magic

In a game that started with struggles but ended historically, Steph Curry delivered one of his signature performances, lifting the Golden State Warriors to a 121-115 comeback win over the Orlando Magic.

The two-time MVP caught fire after a quiet first quarter in which the Warriors trailed by 11 and Curry had just five points. By halftime, he had poured in 21 points, including five three-pointers—one was a 51-foot heave at the buzzer, foreshadowing the dominance to come.

Down 14 entering the third, Curry took over, dropping 22 points in just under 10 minutes. He splashed four more threes, single-handedly outscoring the Magic in the quarter and putting Golden State ahead for the first time all night.

Orlando fought back in the fourth, but Curry sealed the victory with three dagger triples in the final four minutes, including a clutch shot with 1:31 left to put the game away. He finished 12-of-19 from deep for a season-high 56 points, marking his 14th career 50-point game. It was also his third time making a dozen threes in a game, just one shy of his single-game record.

Thursday’s performance continued Curry’s dominance on Feb. 27—12 years after his first 50-point game and eight years after his legendary game-winner in Oklahoma City.

“It never gets old watching,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “Even Magic fans knew they were witnessing the greatest shooter ever.”

On the other side, Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 41 points, but it wasn’t enough to outshine Curry’s latest masterpiece.
