Divorce sucks. Even if you’re a celeb where, the public watches every motion and court filing. Offset requests joint legal custody of his three children with Cardi B as their ongoing divorce unfolds in court. The rapper, formerly of Migos, has filed new legal documents asking for the Bronx native’s home to serve as the primary residence for their children. In addition, he is seeking to have spousal support arrangements addressed through child support, an equal division of marital assets, and for each party to cover their own legal expenses.
Get this, Cardi B initiated the divorce last August, reportedly requesting primary custody of their children. While their split has played out in court, the drama has also spilled into social media, with both parties exchanging heated comments—Cardi’s Twitter rants and Offset’s public appearances with other women adding fuel to the fire.
Despite the ongoing contention, both celebrities appear to be moving forward differently. Offset recently made headlines for purchasing a $500,000 Ferrari, while Cardi B has been romantically linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs. However, given the tendency for rumors to be exaggerated, it’s unclear how much truth there is to the dating speculation.
The former couple’s relationship has been shaky throughout being together. They started dating in 2017, married, and welcomed their first child, Kulture, in 2018. Over the years, they experienced multiple breakups, infidelity rumors, and even a divorce filing in 2020 that Cardi later retracted. They ultimately couldn’t make their marriage work despite their efforts to reconcile.
As their legal battle continues to heat up, both in the courtroom and on social media, how things will ultimately be resolved remains to be seen. While their public drama continues, hopefully, the legal process will bring a more amicable conclusion to this chapter.
