Ice Cube was stranded in his hotel in Australia as Cyclone Alfred made its way toward the area where he was staying.
The legendary West Coast pioneer and actor is currently Down Under for a series of performances. During an interview with Australia-based show The Project on Wednesday (March 5), Cube shared his thoughts on experiencing the tropical storm firsthand.
“I’m staying clear of it. It’s pretty cool,” he said. “I haven’t been through a cyclone before. I can check this off my bucket list for sure. You know, I’m right here on the beach. The beach looks like it is going to be in the lobby in a minute.”
Despite the storm, Cube’s tour is still set to continue. If all goes as planned, he will take the stage at Sydney’s ICC Theatre on Friday (March 7) before heading to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Green Day, who was also in Australia for a tour, wasn’t as lucky. The band’s final show on the Gold Coast was canceled due to the severe weather conditions.
