Offset Sends Shots At Elon Musk For Co-Signing Presidential Pardon For George Floyd’s Killer

Offset has publicly criticized Elon Musk for his recent comments regarding the potential pardon of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of X (formerly Twitter), reshared a video on Tuesday (March 4) featuring conservative commentator Ben Shapiro advocating for Chauvin’s release. In response to the video, Musk added, “Something to think about,” appearing to support the discussion around pardoning the former officer.

Offset, expressing his frustration, took to Instagram to call out Musk. “Racist b***h playin’ in Black folks’ faces,” he wrote in a comment. He also decided to boycott Tesla, stating, “Driving Ferrari, not Tesla.”

Shapiro has launched a petition urging former President Donald Trump to pardon Chauvin, who is currently serving a 22-and-a-half-year sentence for second-degree murder and an additional 21-year sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights. In a letter to Trump, Shapiro argued that Chauvin’s conviction was influenced by “massive overt pressure on the jury” and that lawmakers had shaped the public narrative before the trial.

Chauvin, whose conviction followed global protests against police brutality, has attempted multiple appeals but has been unsuccessful. In late 2023, he was stabbed in prison, though his injuries were not life-threatening.

Musk’s comments have sparked renewed debate on social media, with strong reactions from both supporters and critics of Chauvin’s conviction.
