Suge Knight will not be released early from his sentence for a fatal hit-and-run. A Los Angeles County judge upheld the sentence, citing Knight’s plea and bid as “not sincere.”
According to Rolling Stone, Judge Laura F. Priver denied the request, citing a lack of legal grounds. “It is clear that the petitioner was not as isolated or as helpless to act as he wishes this court to believe,” Judge Priver wrote.
In response, Knight’s lawyer, David Kenner, blasted the decision. “I think the court has grossly erred in the decision it rendered. I think it is legally improper and the court did not follow the law.”
He added, This is a violation of every constitutional right he has, which, unfortunately, is nothing new in his case.”
Knight ran over Cle “Bone” Sloan and Terry Carter in 2015 in Compton, CA at Tam’s Burger, killing Carter. He was sentenced to 28 years in 2018.
