Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight Clash Over Unproven Allegations Involving Tupac’s Accused Killer

Let’s first make something clear. We don’t endorse rumors, hearsay, and jailhouse talk. Now that we got that out the way … Snoop Dogg has fired back at incarcerated Marion “Suge” Knight Jr.’s wild, unproven claims that the hip-hop icon from Long Beach has been advocating for the release of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man accused of killing Tupac “2Pac” Shakur in 1996.

As we said, it is wild and unproven.

The feud between the two rap industry heavyweights has reignited as Knight, the incarcerated co-founder of Death Row Records, made startling allegations during a recent prison interview.

ICYMI, on Sept. 29, 2023, Las Vegas police arrested Keefe D in connection with the decades-old murder of 2Pac. Keefe D has pleaded not guilty, and his trial will begin on February 9, 2026. During a February 24 interview with The Art of Dialogue, Knight claimed that Snoop Dogg and others have been trying to secure Keefe D’s release from jail.

“Since I been in here, Snoop and other people been trying to bail [Keefe D] out, cause he talking too much,” Knight said. He also referenced hip-hop producer Wack 100, who reportedly attempted to post $112,000 for Keefe D’s bail in June 2023. However, a judge denied the request, citing concerns that Davis might use his freedom to discuss the 2Pac case in a TV series.

Knight, 59, who’s down for years for killing a man with his truck, further accused Snoop, 53, of lying about visiting 2Pac in the hospital after the rapper was fatally shot in September 1996. “That definitely didn’t happen. Snoop didn’t go to the hospital. That’s a lie,” Knight asserted. He also suggested that Keefe D has been sharing details about 2Pac’s death.

Snoop Dogg swiftly responded to Knight’s allegations on Instagram, dismissing the claims and turning the accusations back on his former mentor. “This n—- [won’t] stop talking about me, mad cuz I own Death Row, I realize your real lies,” Snoop wrote. The rapper purchased Death Row Records in February 2022, a move Knight has questioned, though he has provided no evidence to support his doubts.

The ongoing feud between the two has drawn significant attention, with fans and critics weighing in on social media. The Art of Dialogue reposted Snoop’s response, sparking a flood of reactions in the comments section. One user wrote, “They both lie a lot so who knows,” while another targeted Snoop directly, stating, “Snoop has proven to have buster tendencies.” Others criticized Knight, with one commenter calling him “soooooooo full of s—,” and another urging Snoop to address the allegations directly: “Go on Art’s platform and speak on it. Suge is out here makin’ wild allegations.”

That part.

While Knight’s claims about Snoop’s involvement in Keefe D’s case remain wildly unproven, Snoop has previously shared his account of visiting 2Pac in the hospital before the rapper’s death. During a May 2022 appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Snoop recounted the emotional experience.

“When we drive to Vegas to see Pac, we got to Suge’s house first, so we haven’t even seen Pac,” Snoop said. “We’re just talking to Suge, and he’s got the head wrapped up and he’s telling us what happened and [saying,] ‘Pac’s gonna be alright, he’s going to pull through, he got shot nine times before. He’s going to be alright.’”

Snoop continued, “We’re feeling like it’s going to be alright until we go to the hospital and see that he ain’t alright. He got tubes in him, and it’s like when I walked in, I could just feel that he wasn’t even there, and I fainted. Then his mother got me up and walked me to the bathroom, and had a conversation with me about being strong.”

The tension between Snoop and Knight has been simmering for years. In February 2024, Knight added fuel to the fire by promoting an unverified rumor about Snoop’s wife, Shante Broadus, allegedly traveling to Hawaii with other men. Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in 2018 for the fatal hit-and-run of his friend Terry Carter during a promotional shoot for the Straight Outta Compton movie.
