Another week at No. 1 for Kendrick Lamar. “Luther” from the GNX album extends Lamar and SZA’s run on top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a third week straight. Before “Luther” took over, “Not Like Us” was a No. 1 victory lap for the Super Bowl.
Released via pgLang/Interscope/ICLG, “Luther” earned 53.9 million radio airplay impressions (up 6%), 34.2 million official streams (down 12%), and 3,000 downloads (down 14%) between Feb. 28 and March 6.
“Luther” spends a third week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, holds at No. 3 on Radio Songs, and jumps back into the Top 10 of Digital Song Sales, moving from No. 12 to No. 8.
It also stays at No. 1 for a second week on both R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Adult R&B Airplay. Remarkably, it became the first song ever to top both Adult R&B Airplay and Rap Airplay, and has also claimed No. 1 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop and Rhythmic Airplay charts.
“Luther” marks Kendrick’s seventh No. 1 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts, where it remains for an 11th week. It also gives SZA her fourth No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and her first on the rap chart.
Kendrick’s past No. 1s include “Not Like Us,” which led for three nonconsecutive weeks between May and February, and “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, which reigned for three weeks last April. Other chart-toppers include “Squabble Up,” “HUMBLE.,” and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.”
