Say what? Harlem emcee turned successful podcast host Ma$e is gearing up for a major musical comeback. The rapper, also known as Murder Ma$e, just announced that his first album in over two decades will drop on the same day as Diddy’s highly anticipated trial begins.

Talk about marketing.

Get this: while listening to tracks selected by Cam’ron, the Harlem rapper casually dropped the news during an appearance on It Is What It Is. “I’m listening to the songs that [Cam’ron] picked out of the stuff I made … It’s gonna be crazy. We had to pick the right records. I let him pick the right records,”

Ma$e shared. When co-host Maurice Clarett asked about the timing of the album release, Ma$e responded with a sly smile, saying, “May 25th. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. You like that? You made me put it out there.” He added, “Now we even,” revealing that the album will span three discs.

Sheesh. Trolling 101.

Interestingly, although Diddy’s trial is set to begin on May 5, it remains unclear whether Ma$e intends to release his album on that specific date. The timing of the announcement has certainly raised eyebrows.

Ma$e’s decision to align his album with Diddy’s legal troubles isn’t without precedent. Last year, after federal agents raided Diddy’s homes—an operation that ultimately led to his indictment on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering—Ma$e appeared to take some satisfaction in the fallout. “Reparations is getting closer and closer!” he joked during a segment on It Is What It Is shortly after the police raid.

As co-host Cam’ron pointed out that the raids occurred on the 27th anniversary of Biggie’s Life After Death, Ma$e reflected on the eerie timing, saying, “It’s amazing that all of this would transpire on that day. That’s eerie, man! That’s crazy.”

Later in the interview, Ma$e explained why he had kept a relatively low profile regarding Diddy’s legal situation, hinting at bigger revelations to come in a future documentary. “I’m saving my takes for the documentary,” he teased. “If y’all wondering how I feel, it’s coming soon — pause.”

Here we go with the pause, shenanigans.
