Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams was taken from her New York assisted living facility by ambulance on Monday after reportedly throwing a handwritten note out of her window pleading for help. The incident comes just as Williams was preparing for her first sit-down interview since being placed under a court-ordered guardianship.
According to the New York Post, the distressing call for help came around 11:15 a.m. when Williams, 60, tossed the note from the window of her fifth-story room. The note read simply: “Help! Wendy!!” Police sources confirmed that a wellness check was conducted in response.
Williams, who has been diagnosed with dementia, has been residing in the facility’s memory ward as she fights to regain control over her affairs. Reports indicate that after throwing the note, she was seen at the window, waving her arms and speaking on the phone with a Post reporter.
Shortly after, Williams was seen exiting the facility, walking silently while escorted by multiple police officers. She was then assisted into a waiting ambulance.
The circumstances surrounding her guardianship remain a source of concern for her fans, as she has been largely absent from public life following her health struggles and legal battles. The upcoming interview was expected to shed light on her current condition, as well as the ongoing legal fight over her care.
As of now, there has been no official statement regarding Williams’ removal from the facility or her current whereabouts. Fans and supporters remain anxious for updates on her well-being and what this latest development means for her future.
