Cryptic Drizzy is a gift that keeps on giving. This time Drake is seemingly gearing up for a new phase in his life and career, and he’s making it clear that this next chapter might not sit well with everyone. That part.
On Monday, March 10, the Canadian rapper took to Instagram to share a series of images and a cryptic message, hinting at what’s to come. The post included a photo of an OVO Sound sweatshirt with the phrase “Free the Man Dem,” several selfies, a box of nausea medication, and a screenshot from the 2017 film Phantom Thread starring Daniel Day-Lewis.
ICYMI, in the post, the 38-year-old artist reflected on his journey and the changes ahead. “U know I grew up non confrontational and always treated this game as a sport where my pen won gold, but my these days the podium has been hard for all of us to ignore,” he wrote. “I understand that this next chapter may leave you feeling uneasy, but I hope you see my honesty as clarity not charity that answers some questions especially about the unanswered texts you’ve been sending me.”

This cryptic–yes, we’re saying it again–message comes on the heels of his recent chart-topping success. Last month, Drake and PartyNextDoor released their collaborative project $ome $exy $ongs 4 U on Valentine’s Day, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This marked Drake’s 14th album to reach the top spot. If anyone is keeping score, feel free to stack that feat up against, well, whoever.
However, the IG post seems to hint at some’thing deeper some’else, perhaps more personal. Before the release of $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, Drake had teased new solo work, which could be the inspiration behind his latest social media update. His most recent solo album, For All the Dogs, dropped in 2023, and fans have been eagerly awaiting his next move.
Wonder what the 6God is going on about. Guess, we’ll have to wait and see.
