Suge Knight Slams Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Ownership: ‘You’ve Disappointed the World with Flops’

Suge Knight has a lot of time on his hands. Seriously, he does. Once again, the former Death Row honcho is going at Snoop Dogg, this time taking aim at the rapper’s ownership and management of Death Row Records. In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Knight questioned the legitimacy of Snoop’s acquisition of the iconic label and criticized his ability to maintain its legacy.

Knight’s comments held nothing back as they came in response to Snoop’s previous remarks about Knight’s alleged involvement in the 1996 murder of 2Pac. Knight dismissed these claims as a distraction from what he saw as the real issue: Snoop’s leadership of Death Row. “Snoop, you said I’m mad because you bought Death Row,” Knight said. “What did you buy? Show me proof of payment. Show me the paperwork. Show me what you actually own.”

Oh, but wait, the former West Coast CEO didn’t stop there. He accused Snoop of failing to uphold the label’s once-dominant reputation, claiming that its influence has significantly declined under his leadership. “You’re trying to recreate what I built, but instead of elevating it, you’ve disappointed the world with flops,” Knight added.

Since purchasing Death Row from MNRK Music Group in 2022, Snoop has positioned himself as the label’s savior, vowing to restore its former glory. However, Knight remains skeptical, arguing that Snoop’s tenure has yet to produce the kind of hits that defined Death Row’s golden era. He contrasted their approaches, pointing to the label’s success during his time at the helm.

“When I dropped Tha Dogg Pound, they moved records,” Knight said. “You dropped a Dogg Pound album, and it flopped. You and Dre said you made the best album of your lives—we couldn’t tell because it disappeared overnight.”

Snoop, for his part, has largely dismissed Knight’s criticisms, brushing them off as bitterness. He responded to Knight’s claims on social media with a mocking tone, writing, “This n#### won’t stop talking about me. Mad cuz I own Death Row. I realize your real lies.”
