A Bible once owned by Robert Kardashian Sr. and gifted to O.J. Simpson during the former football star’s 1994 legal troubles has sold for $80,276 at auction. The sale, conducted by Goldin Auctions, included 49 total bids before closing on March 29.
$80 bands for a bible. That part.
The personal Bible features a handwritten inscription from Kardashian, Simpson’s close friend and defense attorney during his high-profile murder trial. “This book will help,” Kardashian wrote inside the pages. “God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.” The message is dated June 18, 1994, shortly after Simpson’s arrest.
Goldin Auctions described the item as Kardashian’s personal copy of “The Living Bible,” noting his name embossed in gold on the cover. While showing typical wear including spine stress and edge discoloration, the auction house emphasized its historical significance, calling it “a testament to their friendship.”
Kim Kardashian had previously attempted to purchase the family artifact with a $15,000 offer before it went to auction. The winning bidder’s identity remains unknown, according to Malcolm LaVergne, executor of Simpson’s estate.
The Bible’s sale marks the latest chapter in the enduring public fascination with memorabilia connected to one of the most followed legal cases in American history–OJ Simpson.
