Some people will believe absolutely anything … Sexyy Red became the subject of an amusing online conspiracy last Friday (March 29) when a parody account sparked rumors about her supposed secret career.
The Mission Impossible style chatter kicked off after a satirical post from DailyNoud on X (formerly Twitter) jokingly claimed the “SkeeYee” rapper was an undercover CIA operative, using the codename “Agent Bow Wow” since 2018. The fictional article even quoted unnamed “officials” describing her as “highly destabilizing and culturally critical.”

Get this, while some initially questioned the absurd claim, Sexyy Red embraced the joke, reposting the article with a lighthearted response: “Damn they got me shattt.”
But wait, a true fan joined in on the fun, sharing throwback clips of her early music while playfully acknowledging the ongoing jokes about her being an “industry plant” or secret agent. However, they also defended her genuine rise in hip-hop, writing: “BUT, i always gotta stand by the authenticity. Sexyy Red been grinding for literal years. Personally i loved that she blew up.”
Now, if you’re keeping up with Sexyy Red, this isn’t the first time the St. Louis artist has faced bizarre accusations. Last year, one critic baselessly claimed she was being pushed in music to “misguide” Black women—a notion she quickly dismissed by responding: “Makin y’all shake a* misguiding y’all?”*
What do you think? Is she a secret agent or nah?
