Just months after regaining his freedom, Young Thug finds himself back in legal turmoil. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to revoke his probation, citing alleged threats and social media activity that they claim pose a danger to public safety.
Thug, who took a plea deal in October 2024, was originally sentenced to 40 years, with five years commuted to time served and 15 years of probation. Under the agreement, he was required to follow strict conditions to maintain his release.
Now, prosecutors argue that Thug’s online behavior has violated those terms. They specifically call out posts aimed at Atlanta Police Department investigator Marissa Viverito, including an alleged tweet where he referred to her as “the biggest liar in the DA’s office.” Another post reportedly featured images of Viverito with a caption stating, “all my homies hate Viverito.”
According to the motion, these posts led to Viverito’s home address, along with her parents’, being leaked online. Prosecutors also claim that one post encouraged followers to pull up on her mama crib, while another allegedly included a threat against District Attorney Fani Willis.
In response to the allegations, Young Thug took to X to defend himself, denying any involvement in threats or harassment. “I don’t make threats to people. I’m a good person, he wrote. I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”
With prosecutors pushing to send him back behind bars, Thug’s legal battle is far from over. Whether the court will side with the DA’s office remains to be seen.
