When you think of the Midwest music scene, you might not immediately name North Minneapolis. But that’s quickly changing, thanks to artists like Six Da Prophet, who has been quietly rewriting the playbook on how to turn pain into purpose, family into fuel, and independence into influence.
Born Anthony Lam, Six represents a family name that echoes through the region—the Lam family. Whether you’re from St. Louis, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, or Georgia, the Lam name holds weight in both street and musical circles. Some might even call it royalty. But what matters most is that it’s a legacy rooted in community, creativity, and consistency.
“I come from a family that really did this music thing,” says Six. “It wasn’t for show. It was in our blood. So from a young age, I knew I was next.” After being born in Rock Island, he was raised in North Minneapolis, a place that shaped him in equal parts through hardship and inspiration. Surrounded by musicians in his family and immersed in the harsh reality of the streets, Six had only two options—fall victim to his environment or rise above it through expression.
By age 15, he had already released his debut album, The Seven Seals. The project was more than a local buzz—it made him a name in the city. He started hitting stages across Minneapolis, gaining press coverage, and even performing for political figures like the late Senator Paul Wellstone. At a time when most teens were figuring out their future, Six was already executing his.
His journey eventually led him to become one of the original members of Mackilot Dead N Gone (MDG), a powerful collective in the region. But Six wasn’t just about group efforts. As a solo artist and visionary, he began laying the groundwork for his own movement. Now, he runs his own independent label, Northside Or Nothing Entertainment, and he’s added a distribution deal with Empire/GT Digital to his arsenal.
Alongside his brother Slyce, who’s respected in his own right as a producer, writer, and artist, the Lam brothers are building an empire rooted in authenticity. They’re not chasing trends—they’re cultivating a lane.
Six’s impact extends beyond music recordings. He’s a battle rap veteran, with over 20 high-level battles documented across YouTube and national platforms. His presence in that world isn’t just for clout—it’s a display of penmanship, strategy, and dominance.
This year, Six added more honors to his mantle:
🏅 “Artist of the Decade” – Minnesota Men’s Music Awards
🥇 “First Champion” – Grassroots National Music Seminar
And with all that under his belt, he’s not slowing down. His latest single, “Trap Mobile”, is a raw and introspective anthem that speaks to the hustle in motion. Whether you’re dodging poverty or navigating power moves, the song delivers a soundtrack for those who keep it pushing no matter the odds. It’s an anthem for entrepreneurs, risk-takers, and survivors alike.
“Trap Mobile” isn’t just another single—it’s a statement. A message that real music, real stories, and real independence still matter.
