Actor and R&B artist Trevor Jackson is set to debut on ABC’s long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy in the upcoming Season 21 finale.
According to Deadline, Jackson’s role comes with the option to become a series regular should the show be renewed for Season 22—a move widely anticipated by industry insiders.
This is big as Grey’s Anatomy is one of the most iconic shows of all time, and Jackson is certainly adding to his acting legacy with this notch on his already impressive resume.
The media outlet noted that the highly sought-after part attracted significant interest from young actors, given the rare opportunity to join such an enduring television institution. Jackson will portray a “handsome, intelligent, but arrogant man in his late 20s who has just moved to Seattle.” While his exact position at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital remains unclear, speculation suggests he may fill one of the recently vacated intern or resident roles following the departures of actors Midori Francis and Jake Borelli.
Jackson brings extensive experience with Disney/ABC, having starred in the black-ish spinoff, grown-ish, alongside Yara Shahidi from 2018 to 2024. His credits include the Disney Channel original movie Let It Shine and a prominent role in the third season of ABC’s American Crime in 2016.
Viewers can first catch Jackson’s performance in the Season 21 finale, airing May 8. Following the show’s almost certain renewal for its 22nd season, a formal announcement regarding his potential promotion to series regular is expected.
