APtheG Puts Versatility and Community at the Forefront with All His Musical Endeavours

By: Paul K. Barnes

APtheG is an artist who wants to build his music career on two things: versatility and uplifting others. With a plethora of singles and one mixtape titled The Chosen One already out and another one on the way, he’s continuing to fire on all cylinders in 2025. His latest single “Do Sumin” lands right in the lane of the high energy flow focused atmosphere of one of his previous and successful tracks “762.” However, in the years between these two songs, APtheG has brought several types of songs to the ears of his listeners.

“With each song I make, I want to make something that catches people’s attention. I want them to hear something that makes them want to listen to me again.” he said.

APtheG’s stage name is multi layered with references.  With his interest in Greek names, “Apollo” stuck out to him immediately since he was known as the god of music and arts. However, to remain humble, AP decided an abbreviated version of this would be much better than naming himself directly after a god. Additionally, the double entendre of referencing the world famous Apollo theater stuck out to him too. Furthermore, “theG” stands for “the great” which naturally reinforces the confidence he has in his own abilities.

APtheG’s tracks like “DO SUMIN” and “762” are the types of songs made for hype energy as he flows over the ominous melodies and aggressive drums with ease. The latter was produced by his friend Itsapicasso.  His flow adapts to both tracks with verses filled with lines that let listeners know he means business. The track “DO SUMIN”  finds APtheG discussing how he’s following through on his actions while “762” takes its inspiration from the bullet caliber of a draco. However, in other tracks like “No Turning Back,” he takes a completely different approach as he brings listeners into his mind in an introspective way.

“That track showcases a softer side. It’s more personal and I’m talking about my family. I had to touch base with my inner self and touch some soft spots that I don’t really like touching.” he said.

While APtheG’s current primary focus is on various forms of rap and hip-hop, he hopes to one day expand into the R&B lane. With this, he’ll be able to bring even more emotion to his music as well as range with his own abilities as an artist. He’s also willing to begin working with both male and female R&B vocalists to help enhance his more emotional songs. By bringing a talented vocalist in and pairing their contributions with his rapping, he’s confident something great will come from it.

In addition to bringing his versatility to the rap game, APtheG wants to create a supportive community through his label Get To The Money Records. By crafting a multi genre team of artists, he’ll take pride in giving others the opportunities to reach their goals and become successful, even if that means surpassing him.

“I haven’t signed anyone yet, I want to get myself established first and  work on the label a little more.  Then, I want to bring in other people. They don’t have to be just hip-hop either. I’m open to different genres that want to actually make music.” he said

With APtheG hailing from Virginia, walking in the paths of legends like Pharrell, Missy Elliott, Clipse and more is an intimidating path to follow. However, with his motivation being his love for the music and his children, he’s ready to make his mark just like they did. Through his diverse catalog, label plans and focus on ensuring his music reaches and connects with his listeners, APtheG is ready to keep moving forward. He’s planning to drop a project near the fast approaching summer season and with it will come a more hip hop based sound that is still authentically APtheG.
