Rihanna may have just announced her third pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala, but according to Ciara, baby number four might already be on the brain.
Appearing on Sherri Tuesday, May 6, Ciara dished on her heartwarming reunion with Rihanna at fashion’s biggest night, where the two powerhouse moms shared a “straight mommy talk” moment backstage. “Oh my gosh, it was so sweet running into her. I just have to shout her out ‘cause I’m so proud of her,” Ciara said. “This is her third baby she’s having now.”
The reunion was a full-circle moment for the two stars, whose last public interaction was a fiery Twitter exchange in 2011. But any past drama was firmly behind them as Ciara posed with her hand on Rihanna’s bump, sharing a joyful exchange between growing families. “We were cracking up talking about… Russ was with us, and A$AP, we all took a picture together and he started talking about cinco because, you know, I have four,” Ciara explained. “We start talking about quatro for her—but she’s got to get through the tres first.”
Rihanna, 37, and A$AP Rocky, 36, confirmed they’re expecting their third child together after the Fenty founder proudly debuted her baby bump at the Met Gala on May 5. The couple already share two sons—RZA Athelston, who turns three this month, and 21-month-old Riot Rose.
Though baby number three hasn’t arrived yet, Ciara says the love and excitement surrounding the growing family was palpable. “Straight mommy talk, just sweet love, special moment for her,” she said. “I got to shout her out because she also sent me a sweet DM a few months back saying she’s so proud of me.”
According to sources close to the couple, the Grammy-winning parents couldn’t be more thrilled to be expanding their family. “Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited,” an insider told People. “They wanted to have their children close together in age so that they could grow up together and share a close bond.”
As for Ciara, the “Level Up” singer knows something about raising a squad. She and husband Russell Wilson are parents to four kids, and now, she might have another famous mama joining her in the four-kid club soon.
“Rih’s not playing,” Ciara joked with a smile. “But first things first—she’s gotta get through number three.”
