Pharrell Williams’ non-profit initiative, Black Ambition, just gave aspiring entrepreneurs more time to take a major leap. The organization has officially extended the application deadline for its 2025 Black Ambition Prize Competition. Startup founders from underrepresented communities now have until Friday, May 9 at 9:00 PM ET to apply for a shot at up to $100,000 in funding—plus a powerful support system built to take their ventures to the next level.
“There’s still time,” said Black Ambition CEO Felecia Hatcher. “To every innovator who pressed pause or is stuck in perfection—this is your sign. Submit that application. Take the leap. The world needs what you’re building.”
Now in its fifth year, the Black Ambition Prize isn’t just a grant—it’s a full-on launchpad for early-stage founders who’ve been historically left out of the VC conversation. The program offers more than just capital: it provides a 12-week mentorship cohort powered by Cinematica Labs, leadership and pitch coaching, brand partnerships, and access to a strategic network of funders and top-tier advisors.
Winners also gain national visibility through media opportunities and product placement, along with more than $1 million in resource support from Black Ambition’s partners.
Since its inception in 2020, Black Ambition has already awarded $13 million to 131 entrepreneurs, who have collectively raised more than $280 million. The initiative has garnered praise from outlets like Forbes, Essence, and Complex, and took home Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas award for Impact Investing.
Startups across sectors including tech, healthcare, consumer products, AI, and media are encouraged to apply at blackambitionprize.com.
With the deadline fast approaching, the message is clear: the future is Black, ambitious—and being built right now.
