Jay-Z is intensifying his legal efforts against a woman who previously accused him of sexual assault, asserting that her continued public statements have caused significant financial harm to him and his company, Roc Nation.
To be clear, the lawsuit has been dismissed.
In an amended complaint filed on May 5 in Mobile, Alabama, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, claims that despite the dismissal of the initial lawsuit in February, the accuser has persisted in defamatory remarks. He points to a TikTok video posted on April 11, in which the woman lip-syncs to audio stating, “You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to get an apology video out of me, I stand on what I said, f**k you.”
The complaint argues that such actions demonstrate a “shocking and reckless disregard for the truth” and have directly impacted Jay-Z’s business ventures. Specifically, he alleges that he was denied a $55 million personal credit line and that Roc Nation was refused a $115 million loan due to the ongoing public allegations. The legal team emphasizes that these financial setbacks result from the accuser’s refusal to retract her statements and the subsequent damage to Jay-Z’s reputation.
Jay-Z maintains that the accuser’s claims are unfounded and that her continued public assertions have caused undue harm to his personal and professional life. He is seeking legal redress to address the alleged defamation and its consequences on his financial dealings.
