R&B legend Al B. Sure! says he may be the last man standing with crucial knowledge about Sean “Diddy” Combs and he’s ready to speak up.
In an interview with FOX 5 New York promoting his upcoming memoir, the singer revisited long-standing suspicions surrounding the 2018 death of his former partner, Kim Porter. According to Al, Porter once cautioned him to “watch your back” when it came to Diddy, and he still questions the official cause of her death—a pneumonia diagnosis at the age of 47 that he finds hard to accept for someone he says was healthy.
Al B. Sure! confirmed that he has been subpoenaed to testify in Diddy’s upcoming federal sex trafficking trial and said he and his legal team are prepared to cooperate fully. He also made explosive claims that Diddy placed a bounty on him and orchestrated a smear campaign, which he believes contributed to his life-threatening health issues in 2022. That year, the singer suffered liver failure and was placed in a coma before receiving a transplant. He now alleges Diddy played a role in his organ failure.
In the interview, he ominously stated, “I’m the only one alive,” suggesting that others who tried to speak out against Diddy didn’t survive.
Still, not everyone close to Porter shares those fears. Quincy Brown, Al B. Sure!’s biological son and Kim Porter’s child, continues to stand by Diddy, whom he calls “Pops”, despite the storm of allegations.
Back in September, Porter’s children released a statement reiterating that the cause of her death had been officially determined and that the family had found no evidence of foul play. “Grief is a lifelong process,” they said. “We ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.”
Prosecutors noted in court this week that the federal trial will not heavily focus on Kim Porter or Al B. Sure!’s history, but his potential testimony could still offer a pivotal moment in the government’s case.
