Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor was arrested in Florida over the weekend on charges of child abuse and solicitation, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
Jail records show the 34-year-old was booked on two separate counts: one for negligent child abuse without bodily harm, and another for soliciting another for prostitution or lewd conduct. Taylor was released on Sunday after posting $6,000 bond.
Once a standout at Florida Atlantic, Taylor entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and went on to play seven seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns. He recorded 140 total tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception during his NFL tenure. His last game appearance came in Week 17 of the 2020 season with Carolina.
Taylor, who was born Adarius Glanton, legally changed his name to honor his father. He also had a brief stint in the Canadian Football League following his time in the NFL.
