Anthony Edwards drilled a stunning 30-foot buzzer-beater to close the first half, then exploded in the third quarter to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Golden State Warriors, 117-110, and into a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Trailing by two at halftime, Minnesota opened the third with a 22-8 run fueled by 16 points from Edwards, flipping a tight contest into a dominant frame. The Wolves outscored the Warriors 39-17 in the quarter, shooting 65% from the field and forcing six turnovers while holding Golden State scoreless from deep.
Edwards, who led the league in made threes this season, had struggled from long range in the playoffs — especially from 30+ feet — before nailing the deep buzzer-beater over Gary Payton II and Draymond Green. He finished with 30 points and six threes, combining with Julius Randle (31 points) for 61 points and 10 triples. They became just the third Timberwolves duo to each score 30+ in a playoff game.
The Wolves have won 24 of their last 30 games since Randle’s return from injury, including a 7-2 playoff run. Edwards now ranks fifth all-time in 30-point playoff games by a player age 23 or younger.
Game 5 tips Wednesday in Minnesota, with Golden State’s Steph Curry questionable.
