Trump Eyes $400M Jet Gift from Qatar Royal Family—But Legal, Security, and Ethical Turbulence Loom

President Donald Trump is looking to elevate Air Force One to a new level, accepting a “flying palace” jet from the Qatari royal family.

But there’s a catch for him and America. Accepting the gift could be an issue of national security.

The gifted jet is a $400 million Boeing 747-8 fully furnished across the two floors.

“So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40 year old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane. Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!!”

Sounds plausible, right? Well, not really. Not only does this go against constitutional laws that would not allow the president to receive gifts from foreign governments, but the Trump administration would attempt to forego that by passing the jet around to Trump’s presidential library foundation for when the current term expires.

So that’s the only holdup? Not really. Air Force One, while 40 years old, is fitted with security equipment to keep the President safe. This jet is not, which would require millions to get it properly fitted to serve a president. Who would foot that bill? Americans.

Another hurdle: Will the jet be done before his term is up? Who knows? Then, it’s just a personal gift overall.

To make things a bit more murky, Trump’s son, Eric Trump, just agreed to open a golf club in Qatar. The deal is worth $5.5 billion.
