Get ready. The streets are heating back up, and BMF fans are in for a wild ride this summer. STARZ just dropped a brand-new teaser for Season 4, and one of the most unpredictable characters in the series—Lamar, played by Eric Kofi Abrefa—is back from the edge in a way nobody saw coming.
ICYMI, the last time viewers saw Lamar, he was spiraling out, slumped on a couch after being forcefully hooked on crack cocaine by Big Meech (Demetrius Flenory Jr.) in Season 2. His fate was left hanging in the balance, with fans wondering if he had succumbed to addiction—or worse.
That cliffhanger has officially been answered.
In the new clip, Lamar reappears in a rehab setting, noticeably cleaned up and surrounded by a circle of recovering users. There, he receives words of encouragement from a counselor who seems to recognize the work he’s put in.
“If you put in as much work out there as you did in this program for the last three months, there is no telling where you can go,” she tells him, gently clasping his hand before adding, “I’m proud of you.”
Lamar’s voice is shaky but determined as he responds:
“Thank you.” Then, facing the group, he shares a raw moment of reflection:
“I’ve been addicted to a lot of stuff in my life. Women, money, power, revenge — that revenge sh*t, that’s what really brought me to my knees — led me to lose everything and everyone I’ve ever loved.”
He continues with a sense of clarity and grit:
“And then uh, good ol’ crack became a new addiction, knowing it was a tool of destruction used against me, but I beat my addiction before my addiction could beat me. Ain’t nothing ever gonna beat me … never again.”
Season 4 is shaping up to be the most intense yet. Following a third season that brought in nearly 10 million multiplatform viewers, STARZ is pushing the saga of the Black Mafia Family to new heights. From narrow escapes in Mexico to deeper entanglements in the U.S., Meech and Terry (Da’Vinchi) are facing enemies on all fronts.
Viewers will also see the early stages of BMF’s move into the music game with their own label, the return of B. Mickie, and Markisha (La La Anthony) stepping fully into her role as Terry’s business partner.
On the home front, Lucille (Michelle Briana White) and Charles (Russell Hornsby) are still navigating the painful aftermath of their split, while trying to guide Nicole (Laila D. Pruitt) into adulthood.
And let’s not forget Detective Bryant (Steve Harris), who, reeling from the tragic loss of his son, is back—and more ruthless than ever in his quest to dismantle BMF from the inside out.
