BSE Global, the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, and Barclays Center, has launched Type.Set.Brooklyn, a digital-first global media brand rooted in the bold, creative spirit of Brooklyn. The new venture, operating out of Industry City, will spotlight music, sports, fashion, food, and pop culture through original content that reflects Brooklyn’s defining values: authenticity, hustle, community, and creative expression.
Complementing the hyperlocal focus of BK Mag, Type.Set.Brooklyn targets a global audience hungry for fresh, unexpected perspectives. The brand’s first content slate includes a mix of video storytelling and lifestyle features aimed at capturing the borough’s cultural impact.
Premiering series include Public Domain, a weekly music show where producers rework century-old songs into new hits; The Last Pick, hosted by Ashley Williams, showcasing underdog basketball talent; The Price is Tight, a fashion challenge highlighting NYC’s thrift culture; and Love on The Stoop, a dating show featuring blindfolded contestants connecting through pop culture questions and red-green flag banter.
Led by DeJuan Wilson, BSE Global’s Chief Products and Experiences Officer, Type.Set.Brooklyn brings together a team of industry veterans from Complex, Conde Nast, and The New York Times. The initiative expands Brooklyn Media’s reach and offers new opportunities for editorial sponsorships, custom content, and live events.
“Brooklyn isn’t just a place, it’s a way of moving through the world,” said Wilson. “With Type.Set.Brooklyn, we’re channeling that energy into a media platform focused on providing the most relevant content for cultural trendsetters and tastemakers both locally and globally. Type.Set.Brooklyn reflects Brooklyn’s role in driving and creating culture — a hotbed of creativity that consistently sets the global standard for what’s next. Our community lies with the culture-makers, the innovators, the ones who know that a creative curiosity drives everything forward and like Brooklyn, we will move with confidence, hustle and intent. Our content will challenge assumptions and spark conversation, giving voice to what matters and offering a fresh perspective on the most current trends.”
This latest move underscores BSE Global’s broader strategy to deliver dynamic content and build deeper connections with fans through experiences that celebrate Brooklyn’s influence on global culture.
