In modern society, where being independent, having ownership, and financial freedom are the coolest things, tales such as Lina Moynha seem out of place. Not in the sense that they are smooth or foreseeable, but they are authentic. The life of Lina before the six-figure businesses, the first-class flights, and the Porsche was not that of the success she lives today. She was raised on a UK council estate, in a poor family where money was not only scarce, but it was frequently non-existent.
Her family, at times, could afford only one meal a day. There were periods of instability. Even periods of homelessness in her early life. And to top it all, she grew up in a second-generation immigrant family where economic stability was not only a rarity, but a thing that most people never thought they could have. There was no entrepreneurship, no property ownership, none of that was in their world when they were growing up, she shares.
There was a promise, but that was all. Lina said to her mother when she was young that she would make everything different. There would come a day when she had created a life in which her family would never need to fight again. The promise would be the basis of all that followed.
The Safe Way That Wasn’t Right.
Similar to most youths in her age group, Lina made the choices that she considered to be the safe path. She attended university, graduated with a degree in business in 2018, and entered the business world hoping to find stability and success. However, the reality was not as expected. Instead, she had to navigate a world of microaggressions, restrictions, and lack of freedom.
Being a young woman in a male-dominated arena, she soon understood that breaking barriers meant the old-fashioned ladder was not going to provide her with the life she envisaged.
“I realized early that the 9-to-5 was not going to bring the freedom or the impact I desired”, she says. And thus she began to seek elsewhere.
Ground-Up Game Learning.
There was no chance that Lina could afford to just leap into owning property without connections, capital, or a safety net. Rather, she followed the path that many forget; she had to figure out how to do the business. She started to handle the management of family friends and began to find deals, gradually gaining experience and trust in a business that can be perceived as closed to newcomers.
It wasn’t glamorous. She was working a full-time job and was getting up at 6 am every morning to network, meet landlords at lunchtime, and every moment that she could spare, she was making a move to progress.
“I had to work ten times harder just to get a foot in the door,” she says.
But that persistence paid off.
The Airbnb Business Model That Revolutionized Everything

In 2022, Lina took a big risk, she went full-time on the rent-to-rent Airbnb concept. It is a concept that is unknown to many, whereby you rent houses from landlords and convert them into temporary, professionally operated apartments, without ever owning the house.
It’s an idea that challenges one of the biggest myths in real estate: the myth that you must be rich to start. Lina began with only £3,000 but grew to 10 properties in 12 months and established a six-figure business in serviced accommodation. No inheritance. No shortcuts. No industry connections. Just consistency, learning, and taking action.
From Survival Mode to Financial Freedom
From survival mode to financial freedom. Jump to the present time and the difference is indisputable. Lina is currently operating a number of six-figure businesses, including her Airbnb projects.
She has also ventured into a remote sales business, which assists other women to make money online, and she is currently looking at international opportunities, such as expanding to Dubai. However, it is not the numbers but what she has been able to accomplish for her family that counts the most.
She even purchased her mum a five-bedroom house. Paid off family debts. Provides her loved ones with luxurious trips, both in daily comfort and in such destinations as the Maldives.
“I always said I would retire my mum,” she says. “That was bigger than anything else.”
More Than Just Airbnb: A Shift in Mindset
Lina’s story isn’t only one of property, it’s one of access.
One of the biggest myths that she addresses head-on is that the property industry is only for the wealthy.
“People think you need to own property to get started. That belief alone stops so many people,” she explains.
She’s proved with rent-to-rent and other models that there are different routes to success, especially for those of us who are willing to learn, build relationships, and treat it like a business.
Her serviced accommodation model also creates value beyond just profit.
She partners with landlords directly, delivering a steady income and hands-off management, whilst designing quality homes for diverse guests, including contractors, NHS employees and relocating families.
What’s Next: Ownership, Expansion, and Impact
Although her entry point was rent-to-rent, the next chapter in the life of Lina is focused on ownership and expansion throughout the world. She is in the process of shifting towards the buying of property as well as venturing into international markets to create a global portfolio. Meanwhile, she is engaged in philanthropic activities, especially building projects to provide housing and access to individuals with a similar background.
To Lina, success is more than a way of living. It’s about options. It’s about freedom. And above all, it is all about impact.
A Story Bigger Than Business
Since moving up in life can often feel impossible, Lina Moynha’s story shows that where you start doesn’t have to decide where you end up. Her experience from a council estate to six figures, and from survival mode to an ownership mindset, is a new form of entrepreneurship.
One constructed on steadfastness, flexibility, and faith. And in case there is a message that she would want people to get out of it, it is this: It is not necessary to be born into money to become wealthy, but you must develop the belief that it is a possibility.
