Lil Durk Pushes for Bail Release in Murder-for-Hire Case, Requests New Judge

Maybe three times a charm. Lil Durk is taking another legal swing at freedom as he continues to battle serious federal charges tied to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme. According to AllHipHop, the Chicago rapper has officially filed for a third attempt at bond, hoping that a new judge will take a fresh look at his case.

Get this: On May 14, Durk’s attorney, Christy O’Connor, submitted a motion for reconsideration, urging a district judge to reevaluate an earlier decision keeping the rapper in custody. The move challenges a May 8 ruling by Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue, who denied bond for the second time.

What’s more, O’Connor is now appealing to a higher judicial authority. A district judge can revisit the case and has broader discretion, which could reverse the previous ruling and grant Durk temporary release while he awaits trial.

With all the mounting legal pressure and the stakes rising, Lil Durk’s defense is clearly betting on a new perspective—and a new courtroom—to shift the tide in his favor.

Wild times for Hip Hop.
