Megan Thee Stallion is putting the rumors to rest once and for all. After whispers swirled online suggesting the Grammy-winning rapper had been blacklisted from future Met Galas, the Houston powerhouse set the record straight—and did it with trademark confidence and clarity.
“No. We’re gonna dead these rumors right now, okay? People are like, ‘Oh my God, Megan, you got banned from the Met Gala. No, I didn’t, babe. Like that’s not true,” Megan confirmed in a recent statement to PEOPLE. “Y’all made that up and ran with it. They love making [stuff up]. Anna [Wintour] loves me, babe. That’s why my phone was out.”
The speculation likely stemmed from social media videos of Megan on her phone at this year’s fashion gala, where strict no-filming rules are in place. But according to Megan, there’s no drama behind the scenes—just people eager to stir the pot.
While internet sleuths were busy concocting theories, Megan has been making major moves on the business front.
Earlier this week, she unveiled Hot Girl Swim, her latest entrepreneurial venture. In collaboration with Walmart, the collection brings vibrant, bold swimwear to fans nationwide. Think bikinis, one-pieces, stylish cover-ups, and more—all designed with body inclusivity and summer energy in mind.
“Everyone knows I love being near a pool or a beach, so I finally decided to turn my passion into a business and create my own swimwear brand,” she shared in a press release.
Hot Girl Swim is set to launch Monday, May 19, and will be available at over 500 Walmart locations across the U.S., as well as online via Walmart.com and Megan’s official site. Prices range from $16 to $28, making the line as accessible as it is stylish.
This isn’t Megan’s first time flexing her entrepreneurial muscles. Back in February, she introduced Chicas Divertidas, her premium tequila brand.
“As someone who values good vibes and great memories, I knew I wanted to create a tequila that was designed to be shared and savored with my Hotties,” she told PEOPLE. “Smooth, sultry, and premium. This process has been years in the making, and I’m so proud to take this next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and launch this brand.”
