Trump Administration Considering Reality Show Where Immigrants Compete for U.S. Citizenship

The Department of Homeland Security is reportedly reviewing a proposal for a reality television series in which immigrants would compete to earn U.S. citizenship.

The pitch comes from Rob Worsoff, a producer known for his work on Duck Dynasty. Worsoff confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that he has been in talks with DHS officials about the concept and has received “positive” feedback from former President Donald Trump’s team members.

According to DHS, the idea is in “the very beginning stages of the vetting process,” with no formal commitment. Worsoff presented the idea to the Obama and Biden administrations before approaching Trump officials.

The show would follow contestants through challenges and evaluations, blending elements of traditional reality TV with the U.S. immigration process. Worsoff has also reached out to television networks for initial conversations if DHS agrees to move forward with the collaboration.

No release timeline or official green light has been announced.
