Gunna Covers Up YSL Tattoo While Rumors Continue About Beef With Young Thug

Gunna recently sparked speculation about his relationship with Young Thug after fans noticed something missing in a new set of photos: his YSL tattoo.

The “fukumean” rapper shared shirtless gym selfies online, and eagle-eyed followers quickly pointed out that the YSL ink once visible on his arm had been covered up with a new design. The change, captured by hip hop outlet Kurrco, reignited ongoing rumors that Gunna and Young Thug are no longer on good terms.

Both artists were among several defendants indicted in a sweeping 56-count RICO case back in 2022. While Young Thug has remained in jail awaiting trial, Gunna accepted a plea deal in December of that year and was released shortly after. His decision drew criticism from some fans and industry figures, with many accusing him of “snitching”—a claim he’s publicly denied.

In an April interview with GQ, Young Thug was asked directly about where things stand between him and Gunna. “I know everybody wondering that,” Thug said vaguely. “I don’t know.” The cryptic response offered little clarity but didn’t stop speculation from growing.

Adding fuel to the fire, Thug released the track “Money On Money” with Future around the same time. While never confirmed, many listeners believe one particular line is aimed squarely at Gunna: “These f**k n***as telling for nothing, and I got to be the one calling them friend.”

Social media users also pointed out that Gunna had been quietly removed from official YSL pages—not a small move for a once-prominent artist on the label.

DJ Akademiks weighed in during a livestream, claiming insider knowledge about the situation. “Thug still hates him,” he alleged. “I’m telling y’all what’s happening in the board meetings, what’s happening behind the scenes… When Gunna was coming home, the whole thing was that Thug hates him.”

Akademiks further claimed that Thug sent voice notes dissing Gunna to mutual industry associates and is pushing to remove him from YSL altogether. “It ain’t up to us why he hate him… But Thug wanted this n***a off the f***ing label,” he said.

While neither Gunna nor Young Thug has directly confirmed a fallout, the covered tattoo and silence speak volumes—for now.
