Live Nation has already sold 100 million tickets for 2025 — eclipsing its full-year record from 2019 — and it’s only mid-May.
Live Nation CFO Joe Berchtold shared the milestone during an appearance at JPMorgan Chase’s Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference in Boston, calling the surge a sign of booming global demand. “In 2019, we sold 98 million tickets in the full year,” Berchtold said. “So we’re sitting here now, mid-May, and we’ve already surpassed that.”
According to Music Business Worldwide, Berchtold pointed to the explosive demand for artists like Bad Bunny, who recently launched ticket sales for a 30-stadium tour across Asia and Europe. In just two days, the Latin megastar sold over 1 million tickets with a 98% sell-through rate.
“The majority of our growth has come from international in the past several years,” he noted. “And the majority of growth will come from international this year.”
Berchtold also hinted at more semi-residency tour models, with artists performing multiple stadium shows in key cities, citing Beyoncé as a leading example of the trend.
Despite price drops in less premium sections, Berchtold emphasized that dynamic pricing strategies and strong demand for premium seats continue to drive record revenues. He added that the average get-in price across Live Nation venues remains in the “mid- to high $30s,” and has grown more slowly than inflation since 2019.
