Caitlin Clark Denounces Alleged Hateful Remarks Made During Fever-Sky Matchup

Caitlin Clark has denounced hatred, bigotry, and derogatory remarks allegedly said to Angel Reese during the Indiana Fever’s season opener against the Chicago Sky. The WNBA is currently investigating the incident of “alleged hateful fan comments.”

“There’s no place for that in our game. There’s no place for that in society,” Clark said. “Certainly, we want every person that comes into our arena, whether a player or a fan, to have a great experience, so I appreciate the league doing that. … We’ll leave that up to them to find anything and take the proper action if so.”

During the game, Clark had an aggressive swipe and push to Reese who had a wide open lay up. The moment was deemed a flagrant foul and sparked another spicy moment ebtween the rivals.

“The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms — they have no place in our league or in society,” the WNBA said in a statement. “We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.”
