Suge Knight Speaks on Alleged Armed Run-In With Diddy: “You Best Believe He Was Gonna Have to Use It”

A nearly two decades ago he said, that gun, this gun story recently resurfaced—this time involving none other than former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight, who has now spoken out for the first time about the night in question.

ICYMI, the explosive moment came during testimony by Cassie Ventura on May 13. She told the court that in 2008, Diddy abruptly halted a private party—described in court as a “freak-off”—to confront Knight after spotting him nearby. Cassie testified that the Bad Boy mogul armed himself with multiple firearms and stormed out, leaving her in a panic.

“I was screaming and crying,” she said, recounting her fear of what might happen next.

Days later, Diddy’s former assistant David James corroborated the account, saying the event “shook” him so badly it prompted him to leave his job altogether.

Now, Suge Knight—currently incarcerated on unrelated charges—has addressed the incident directly in a call with TMZon May 22. When asked whether the feud between the two was ever serious enough that Diddy would confront him with weapons, Knight didn’t mince words.

Here we go, live from lockup …

“If he’d have confronted me and he had a gun, you best believe he was gonna have to use it, or something was gonna happen,” Knight stated.

He then elaborated further, attributing such reckless behavior to fear and intoxication.

“When you’re dealing with drugs and alcohol and even fear, some people, if they feel they’re scared enough, they gotta do something. They can’t do it with their hands, so they gotta bring guns… If you got the serial number changed off, you best believe you’re going to use them.”

When the reporter pressed him on whether he was also carrying a weapon that night, Knight gave a coy response with a chuckle:

“I was armed with my Bible. In other words, you know I’m not gonna answer that question.”

Ha. That part–amen.
