Amber Rose is about to drop an opinion with a bit of substance. The social media personality turned political talking head is weighing in on one of hip hop’s most controversial cases, and her comments are stirring conversation once again. During a recent appearance on CUOMO with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation, Rose shared her thoughts on Tory Lanez and the apology that has long been tied to the high-profile 2020 shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion.
As you and the Hip Hop world know, Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence after being convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a concealed unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. But according to Rose, the narrative around his apology to Kelsey Harris has been misunderstood.
“I heard the whole story from Tory’s mouth. He called me personally from prison,” Rose revealed during the interview. She claims that their private phone conversation changed her perspective on what really happened that night. “I now understand why he said sorry, and it’s not for any shooting at all.”
Okay, so without diving into specifics, Rose emphasized that she is leaving it up to Lanez to explain when the time is right. “I’ll let him tell that story when he comes home, but the sorry was not for what people think it was for,” she stated.
Interesting, but telling? We may have to wait and see.
Get this, the apology in question has fueled speculation since it first surfaced. On the recorded call, Lanez can be heard expressing regret, saying:
“I know she’s probably never ever going to talk to me again, but I just want you to know, bruh, I was just so fuing drunk. I didn’t even know what the fk was going on, bro. I would never do some sh*t like that. I was just so fuing drunk, I didn’t even understand what the fk was going on. Regardless, that’s not gonna make anything right.”
Tory continues, “I’m deeply sorry. I never even move like that, bro. I never move like that at all. For real, for real. I feel crazy, but what happened happened already, I can’t take it back. I’m just telling y’all, I’m sorry, bruh. I was just too drunk bruh. If anything, the only ni**a that’s gonna get this backlash is me. It’s not gon’ be her. Regardless if I get out of here today or not, I just want to let y’all know, bro, I’m sorry… I never would have did that sh*t if I wasn’t that drunk.”
What ya’ll think? Confession of an apology for overall behavior? We’ll let you decide, but one thing is for sure: evidence is evidence. Old evidence, new and maybe even unseen. Eventually it ALL will come to light.
