Joe Budden Teases Possible Comeback to Rap Game: “I want to rap”

Oh really? Joe Budden might be dusting off the mic again after a long break from making music. The retired rapper and current podcast heavyweight revealed on a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast that the spark to spit bars has started to creep back into his system.

“I want to rap,” Budden confessed, speaking candidly after catching a verse and message from his longtime collaborator Ransom. “I do, I ain’t gon’ lie.”

Guess you can thank his circle. And while he hasn’t leaped just yet, it might only be a matter of time. Budden explained that one of the only things standing in his way is the lack of new instrumentals coming his way.

“The only thing stopping me is that I don’t have the beat packs and I don’t request them. But if I ever ask Alchemist or Chad West or one of these n****s I love… Jake One,” Budden said.

What’s more, he added that reaching out to his trusted circle could be the key that opens the door back. “I just start hitting up ns that I love, that I know got something, it’s gonna make me do something,” he said. “I’ll call Ransom, Royce, 38 Spesh, all them ns. We back!”

While he didn’t confirm any official return, Budden made it clear that if he does reenter the studio, it won’t be to chase trends or numbers. It would be strictly for the love.

If he were to create a new album, he said, it would be a “passion project.”

On that note, stay tuned.
