The Game is making his voice heard loud and clear as Los Angeles faces a wave of protests sparked by recent ICE activity.
On Monday, June 9, the Compton emcee used his platform on the Gram to stand with the Black and Brown communities taking to the streets in protest of the immigration raids spreading tension throughout the city.
“Ever since I could remember… it’s been black & brown in this city,” The Game wrote, alongside powerful black and white images from the demonstrations. “From the early days of my childhood til now, we’ve been side by side through it all. All of us. All the time. Not always seeing eye to eye but we’ve shared Los Angeles for a very long time. I stand with y’all like I know you’d stand with us. ‘We might fight against each other… but I promise you this.. we’ll burn this b!%?! down get us pissed!!!!!’ To live & die in L.A.”

His real words quickly resonated across social media, drawing praise from fans who applauded the rapper for using his voice to call for unity in a moment of unrest. One supporter commented, “Meanwhile Snoop Dogg entertaining the king… thanks for using your platform.” Another added, “You always speak about unity. My respect for you.”
Here’s what’s also real. The Game has long positioned himself as more than just an artist. Whether addressing issues within Hip Hop or showing up for his city in moments of crisis, he continues to speak truth to power and push for solidarity among communities of color.
Good for The Game, for taking a stand. It seems that more so-called LA artists should be saying something. Anything, during these challenging times for Angelinos. But, hey, some people move to their own drumbeat.
