A whole year has passed since Jeezy and Jeannie Mai officially ended their marriage, which had lasted two and a half years and brought their daughter, Monaco, into the world. After months of legal back-and-forth played out in public view, the Atlanta rapper is now speaking honestly about what life looks like on the other side.
During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Jeezy reflected on the changes that have come since his split from Mai and how he is choosing to prioritize peace and self-growth above all else.
“I tell myself this every day, ‘Man, this is amazing,’” he said. “I don’t got no enemies… no issues, I don’t want no enemies or issues, I just want peace, joy, and freedom. I love my freedom. Freedom is everything. Especially when you’re talking about art, culture, you’re talking your mind… This is the season of me. I’m putting myself first at all costs.”
The remarks reveal a grounded Jeezy, focused on healing, clarity, and reclaiming his space as both an artist and a man. While the separation was highly publicized, the Seen It All MC seems more interested in moving forward than looking back.
Whelp, time to live your life, brother.
