Jermaine Dupri might have just pulled the curtain back on one of the most unexpected moves in gaming and music crossover history, and all signs point to Drake leveling up inside Grand Theft Auto VI.
It all went down while chopping it up on the Rory and Mal podcast, the legendary Atlanta hitmaker let slip, “They asked me to do Grand Theft Auto, and they were saying like Drake got his own radio station on Grand Theft Auto.” That low-key bombshell has fans speculating heavily about the future of music drops inside Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster release.
But wait, Dupri did not stop there either. He added, “Drake can actually upload music that we probably have never even heard online on that video game.” If that is true, GTA VI may not just be a game but a digital stage for debuting exclusive tracks straight from one of rap’s biggest names. This would be an entirely new way to experience music and gaming simultaneously.
Here’s the thing: Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the move officially, but fans have long hoped for custom-curated stations within the GTA world. If Drake got the keys to his own in-game radio, he might be the first artist to bring that dream into the digital streets.
And Drizzy would not be the only one inside the mix. Back in February 2023, ScHoolboy Q confirmed he would be making a musical appearance in GTA VI. T-Pain has also said he worked directly with Rockstar. Meanwhile, DJ Khaled has remained quiet, but rumors have been swirling that he may also be spinning on a station when the game finally launches.
If Grand Theft Auto VI becomes a new lane for artists to drop music like a streaming service, the lines between hip-hop culture and interactive media are about to collide in a way we have never seen before. The game is set to hit the streets May 26, 2026.
