The high-profile trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs took a sharp procedural turn as one of the seated jurors was officially dismissed due to inconsistent statements regarding his place of residence.
According to TMZ, Judge Arun Subramanian removed Juror Number Six on Monday (June 16), citing concerns that arose after a thorough review of the voir dire process. The judge noted that the juror had listed different locations—at one point claiming to reside in the Bronx, and at another, in New Jersey—prompting doubts about the juror’s credibility.
To maintain the integrity of the proceedings, Judge Subramanian replaced the dismissed juror with a 57-year-old alternate from Westchester County. He noted that alternates are designated specifically for situations like this, where discrepancies could impact the trial’s outcome.
However, the defense is signaling that this change could spark a larger challenge. Diddy’s attorney, Xavier Donaldson, previously expressed concern that removing the juror, one of the few Black individuals on the panel, could raise fairness issues. He urged the court to allow the juror a chance to clarify before being excused.
Now, with the removal official, Diddy’s legal team is reportedly weighing a motion for a mistrial. Whether such a motion will be filed remains to be seen, but legal observers expect developments soon as the trial enters its 24th day.
Meanwhile, witness testimony continues to intensify. Jonathan Perez, one of Diddy’s former assistants, took the stand last week, describing his time working for Combs from December 2021 through September 2024. He claimed that during that period, he was involved in organizing alleged sex parties, including procuring drugs and managing cleanup operations to avoid media exposure.
Other testimonies have addressed internal staff dynamics, alleged abuse, and financial arrangements, painting a complex picture as the federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial continues to unfold.
