Doja Cat has once again lit a fuse across socials, this time after a fan interaction took an unexpected turn and led her to publicly speak out about feeling disrespected during the moment.
Okay, so the clip in question that’s now making the rounds online shows the Grammy-winning artist in what appears to be a warm, cheerful exchange with a fan. There are hugs, smiles, and a seemingly lighthearted vibe. But the story didn’t end there. Doja later took to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a much different take on what really happened. In a since-deleted post, she wrote, “bottom line is i’ll smile at you, but it doesn’t mean I fck w you. don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even fckin know me. iykyk.”
Get this, she didn’t stop there. The Planet Her star went on to say, “i honestly think I need to stand up for myself in the moment sometimes. and he didn’t even know my f***in name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.”
The fan apparently gave Doja the shirt off his back during the interaction, but her reaction to the gesture was far from flattered. She followed up with another post adding that she “threw that musty a*** shirt away.”
But wait, the fan later responded to the uproar in a TikTok video, explaining that he had no clue the “Woman” hitmaker felt uncomfortable and that his goal was simply to promote a new t-shirt line he had recently launched.
