Cam’ron Explains Why He Never Teamed Up With Drake Despite Mutual Respect

Cam’ron is finally shedding light on why a collaboration between him and Drake never came to life, despite years of public admiration between the Dipset legend and the Toronto superstar.

During a recent episode of his show Talk With Flee, Cam kept it all the way honest when asked why he and the 6 God never connected in the studio. According to him, the answer is pretty simple.

“I have no idea,” Cam admitted. “I never really asked Drake to do a song, to be honest with you. That’s a great question. You have to ask everyone in Dipset.”

Honest answer from someone who keeps it a buck.

While many fans of both the Dipset honcho and 6God may have long hoped for a crossover that merges Harlem swagger with the Toronto sound, the opportunity to make it happen never arose organically. Cam clarified that there’s never been any bad blood or a missed opportunity from Drake’s side.

“The opportunity never really presented itself for me, personally,” Cam explained. “It’s not like I asked him to do a song and he didn’t do a song. I just never asked him to do a song.”

That part.

Over the years, Drake has openly embraced Dipset’s influence. From sampling their music to rocking Cam’s iconic pink mink coat during a live show, the love has always been mutual. Cam even noted that whenever Drake wanted to clear a sample, it was done without issue.

Here’s what’s real. Even without a record together, the admiration between Cam’ron and Drake stands strong. Fans may never get that joint they’ve hoped for, but the influence runs deep and the respect is mutual.

Respect. That’s the key word. It still exists in Hip Hop even when there’s nothing to gain from either party.
