SOURCE SPORTS: The Wife of San Francisco Giants’ Sean Hjelle Says He Bailed On His Family On Mother’s Day, Alleges Abuse

San Francisco Giants pitcher Sean Hjelle is facing serious allegations after his wife, Caroline Hjelle, took to social media to claim he abandoned their family following revelations of alleged infidelity and abuse.

In a TikTok post shared Friday, Caroline uploaded a video of herself and the couple’s two children smiling and playing, though her caption delivered a more sobering message. According to her, the video was taken just one week before Mother’s Day, which she says is when Sean walked out on the family.

Caroline alleges Hjelle left after she discovered “numerous affairs” and refused to tolerate what she described as ongoing abuse. “I’ve been raising my two boys alone,” she wrote in the post.

The timing of the video’s release coincided with Hjelle’s appearance on the mound Friday, where he gave up a home run to Boston Red Sox centerfielder Ceddanne Rafaela during a one-inning outing.

Sean and Caroline were married in November 2021. Hjelle, 28, made his MLB debut in May 2022 and has since pitched in 87 games over four seasons for the Giants, posting a career 4.80 ERA.

The Giants stated to reporters in response to the allegations, saying, “We are aware of these serious allegations. We have been in contact with MLB. These types of allegations fall under their jurisdiction and we won’t be commenting further.”

Neither Hjelle nor Major League Baseball has released a public statement regarding the situation.
