Another day, another lawsuit in music has turned into another murder for hire accusation. Kinda, sort of. 50 Cent is shrugging off a wild accusation tied to Fat Joe, calling it pure fiction after court documents surfaced alleging the Bronx rapper once conspired to take his life during their infamous early 2000s beef.
In case you missed it, the wild claim came from Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, Fat Joe’s former hype man, who recently filed a sweeping lawsuit against the rapper that includes a long list of disturbing accusations. Among the most attention-grabbing was the claim that Fat Joe “engaged in a calculated and premeditated conspiracy to murder rapper Curtis Jackson.” According to the filing, the plan was allegedly abandoned when the so-called hitmen were scared off by 50’s tight security detail, described as “Navy Seal” level protection.
Unsurprisingly, 50 Cent wasted no time in responding. Taking to the Gram, he dismissed the claim with a mix of sarcasm and sympathy. “These baseless accusations and claims are not credible. I’m sorry joe has to endure the public scrutiny and damage to his reputation,” he wrote. Then in classic 50 fashion, he added a playful dig: “THIS A STICK UP! I wrote this hook I should a kept this one.”
Fat Joe responded with a “100” emoji under 50’s post, showing a sense of mutual understanding despite their complicated past.
Get this, while the alleged murder plot grabbed headlines, it is just one part of a much larger and far more serious legal battle. Dixon’s lawsuit also includes deeply troubling allegations involving sexual misconduct. He claims he witnessed Joe engaging in sexual activity with underage girls as young as 15 and 16. One particularly disturbing claim states that Joe paid for a Brazilian Butt Lift for one of the minors, identified in court papers as “Minor Doe 2,” who Dixon says is now married to a professional athlete.
In response to the far-reaching suit, Fat Joe has retained powerhouse attorney Joe Tacopina, known for defending high-profile clients such as A$AP Rocky. Tacopina firmly rejected the allegations. “The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are complete fabrications — lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure,” he said. “Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated.”
