Two high-profile couples are openly challenging conventions, revealing that separate sleeping arrangements might just be the secret ingredient to their successful marriages.
Just two weeks ago, Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts’ wife, Amber Laign, candidly shared that living in separate apartments has been key to their enduring union. Now, actress and television personality Raven-Symoné and her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, are adding to the conversation, admitting they sleep in separate beds—a routine they playfully call “magic.”
As reported by E! Online, the couple, who tied the knot in 2020 after five years of dating, divulged this “nighttime hack” during their June 26 appearance on the Jeff Lewis Live radio show. Miranda, 37, explained the practical reasons behind their choice. “Honestly, there were many reasons,” she began. “Raven is a crazy sleeper and she would keep me up at night. She kicks, tosses, and breathes.”
Miranda elaborated that Raven’s distinct sleeping habits often interfered with her meticulous bedtime routine. Raven-Symoné herself chimed in, detailing her elaborate setup: “It’s the hair, the humidifier, the curtains, the way she lays in the bed with red light systems on her whole entire body.” In contrast, Raven described her own, more relaxed, pre-sleep ritual: “I’m in bed on TikTok. My legs are spread all the way open, half-naked.”
These refreshingly honest revelations from both couples suggest that when it comes to long-term partnerships, prioritizing individual comfort and a good night’s sleep, even if it means separate spaces, can lead to a more harmonious and stronger bond.
